Reception and welcome, check-in and accreditation, wayfinding, cloakroom, visitor reception on trade fair stands and looking after guests at galas and conferences. It is an event job: our hosts and hostesses are employed by us and work for you under temporary agency work or a service contract. What we do not offer and do not arrange: escort services or private accompaniment of any kind. Such requests are declined. We say this plainly because the word “hostess” can mean both; with us it only ever means the first.
From 26 €/h net per person as a new client, regularly 28 €/h net, minimum 5 hours per person. The new client rate applies to the first 50 person-hours of your first day, provided you create the quote in the price calculator, confirm it within three days and are booking with us for the first time. Example: two hosts from 5 to 11 pm are twelve person-hours at 26 €, so 312 € net, plus 8 € night surcharge for the hour after 10 pm — 320 € net in total. Sundays add 2 €/h, public holidays 5 €/h. The quote lists each surcharge separately.
Count positions and time windows, not guests. Reception, registration, cloakroom and wayfinding are one person each. At the entrance, what matters is how many guests arrive at the same time: if they come in one wave, a second desk pays off for exactly that window — afterwards the second person moves to another position. The cloakroom depends on how many items are handed in, so in winter it is nearly always more than one person. For larger teams a team lead is worth it, so you have one contact; it costs +6 €/h on that one person, not on each.
Event hosts receive: they welcome, register, point the way and run the cloakroom. Trade fair hosts also work actively: they approach visitors at the stand, start conversations, capture leads and keep an eye on the stand material. Both come from the same pool; the briefing is different. If your stand at Messe Berlin needs people who go up to visitors, book trade fair staff; for reception at an evening event, event hosts are the right choice.
All of our staff speak German, most of them also English — at no extra charge. Say in your enquiry which language your guests will use and we staff for it. Beyond those two, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Turkish and Arabic, among others, are in the pool — the earlier we know, the more precisely we can staff. At short notice we cannot promise a particular language, because it depends on individual people rather than on the pool as a whole.
Guest lists are viewed and worked on at the venue — not copied, not photographed, not taken away. Our staff are instructed on confidentiality and data protection before their first assignment; for accreditation involving personal data we add your specific rules to the briefing. If you need a confidentiality agreement signed, tell us — it can be done digitally before the event.
All black by default: black shirt or blouse, black suit trousers, closed black shoes. Alternatively a white shirt with black trousers and leather shoes. If you supply branded outfits, the team wears them; we check sizes with you in advance. Conspicuous jewellery, visible logos of other brands and trainers are ruled out.
We organise a replacement — included in the price, with no surcharge. At reception this matters more than anywhere: a missing server in the hall barely shows, an empty reception desk shows immediately. That is why we only get back to you once the replacement is confirmed and briefed.
A personal reply in under 24 minutes, a binding confirmation usually within two hours. With fewer than eight working days between your binding booking and the shift, a short-notice surcharge applies: +2 €/h at six or seven working days, rising to +15 €/h at one day or less. A booking made after 4 pm counts from the next working day. From your second booking it is quicker still, because dress code, contacts and venue are already stored in the client portal.
