Short answer

Booking promoters in Berlin — the short answer

Promotion staff in Berlin costs from 26 €/h net per person as a new client, regularly 28 €/h net, with a minimum booking of 5 hours. Our promoters approach passers-by, hand out samples and flyers, run tastings, explain products and capture contacts. A typical sampling day with two promoters from 11 am to 6 pm is fourteen hours at 26 €, so 364 € net. Locations, permits and promotional material come from you or your agency — we help with permit applications and route planning. Most of our promoters speak English at no extra cost, which matters at tourist spots.

What our promoters do

Talking to passers-by

Going up to people instead of waiting for them — the one factor that really moves the number of contacts. We brief on the opening line, the key arguments and when to let someone go.

Sampling at the point of sale

Most of our promotion requests are sampling: in supermarkets, drugstores, shopping centres or in front of the shop. The store or centre management decides, which is often quicker than the district office.

City-centre promotion in Mitte

Alexanderplatz, Friedrichstraße, Potsdamer Platz — the busiest pavements in the city. On public land you need a special-use permit from the district office, which takes weeks, not days.

Kurfürstendamm & Tauentzien

Shopping streets with many tourists: here an English-speaking promoter on every spot is the difference between half conversations and whole ones.

Store openings

Talking to people outside and sending them in — including a count of how many actually go through the door. That is the only number that counts at an opening.

Fair stands & consumer shows

Active approach on the fairground, often alongside your own stand team. Conversations are shorter, the share of qualified contacts is higher.

Trade fair staff in Berlin

Festivals & outdoor events

Sampling in the crowd, usually across several days with changing shifts. We plan relief so the approach is as fresh on day three as on day one — rain or shine.

Rates & terms

What promotion staff costs in Berlin

All prices per person and hour, minimum booking 5 hours. What moves the price is not the work on site — it is how much say you want in who is assigned.

  • Chosen by you, as with curation
  • +6 €/h per booked specialist

The rate applies per person: every specialist you book costs +6 €/h — also without curation, which makes 34 €/h. A team lead is not a tier; it appears as its own surcharge below.

Included in every hourly rate — at every tier

  • Bookable from five hours per person — no day rates, no packages. Billing is for at least the time booked, in half-hour increments
  • Cover is included in the hourly rate — if someone drops out at short notice, a replacement steps in with no surcharge
  • Licensed for temporary agency work (AÜG): you may direct our staff on site yourself, legally sound as agency work. A service contract is equally possible
  • Overtime at the same hourly rate, with no mark-up
  • You see who is coming before the shift: photo, name and a short profile of every person assigned, in our client portal
  • Staffing status stays visible throughout — from the moment the order arrives to the last position filled
  • Digital timesheet: hours confirmed on site by phone, the PDF follows automatically, one collected invoice at month end
  • A briefing on the opening line, key arguments and when to let someone go
  • For food tastings: staff with the food-hygiene instruction under § 43 of the German Infection Protection Act
  • On request, a short report per day: quantities, estimated conversations and observations about the spot
  • Quotes, briefings and invoices in English on request
  • Travel inside Berlin included whenever a train or tram stop is within ten minutes’ walk at both ends of the shift

Larger clients are quoted individually. For high volume, recurring shifts or framework agreements we quote individually — get in touch.

How it works

Booking a promotion team — how it works

From enquiry to shift in four steps — no contract lock-in, bookable from 5 hours.

  1. Tell us six things

Location, date, working hours, number of people, the task and the dress code. With those six we can start staffing; contact person, access and billing details can follow.

    under a minute
  2. Get a price straight away

The calculator does the arithmetic with your actual times and gives you a quote as a PDF — every surcharge on its own line, no sign-up, no phone call.

    60 seconds
  3. A personal reply

A person reads your enquiry and comes back with questions or a confirmation — not an auto-responder. That takes under 24 minutes.

    under 24 minutes
  4. Binding confirmation

Once the details are settled you get a binding confirmation and the shift goes into our scheduling. Usually within two hours of the enquiry.

    usually under 2 h
  5. You see the team

Photo, name and short profile of each person assigned appear in the client portal. Briefing documents go to the team, not just to you.

    before the event
  6. On the day

The team arrives briefed and on time. Your contact stays reachable throughout — one number, one person, not a rota of call handlers.

  7. Hours and invoice

Hours are recorded on a digital timesheet you countersign. The invoice follows from that record, with every surcharge itemised.

Step one takes under a minute: enter the details, get a quote as a PDF.

Why promotions in Berlin fail — and it is rarely the people

Campaigns seldom fail because of the promoters. They fail because of three planning mistakes: too little material, a single promoter alone on a busy square, and a location nobody looked at beforehand. We plan breaks and spot changes in — eight hours on the same square metre achieve nothing — and we tell you before the day if the numbers do not add up. Our promoters are trained to be open without being pushy, with a clear message and a feeling for when a conversation is worth it.

The difference shows from five hours upwards. Work out what your shift costs.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about promotion staff

Answer

From 26 €/h net per person as a new client, regularly 28 €/h net, minimum 5 hours per promoter. The new client rate applies if you create the quote in the price calculator, confirm within three days and book with us for the first time. A typical sampling day with two promoters from 11 am to 6 pm is fourteen hours at 26 €, so 364 € net. A team lead for larger teams is +6 €/h on one person.

Honestly: that depends more on the location and the product than on the person. Drinks and sweets almost always go; products that need explaining much less often. Always plan more material than you think — running out at 3 pm wastes the rest of the booked day.

On public land, yes: a special-use permit (Sondernutzungserlaubnis) from the district office, granted district by district and not at short notice — plan several weeks. On private ground such as malls, forecourts or shop floors, the owner or centre management decides, which is often faster. We can handle applications and route planning as an extra.

Yes, it is one of our most common jobs. For food we send staff with the instruction under § 43 of the German Infection Protection Act. You organise the approval of the store, the spot, the goods, cooling and equipment; we organise the person and the briefing on product and objections.

Promoters approach people who were on their way somewhere else and start a conversation. Hostesses receive guests who are coming anyway — welcome, register, guide and look after them. On a fair stand the same person can do both, but the briefing is different, and so is the strain: six hours of active approach are harder work.

All speak German, most also English — at no extra charge. Further languages are in the pool and can be staffed with some lead time. At tourist spots like Kurfürstendamm, Alexanderplatz or the Brandenburg Gate, at least one English-speaking promoter per spot is not a nice-to-have.

With QR codes, coupons, lead forms or simple counts. The most telling is a code or coupon handed out only at this campaign — then you know not just how much went out, but how much came back. On request we send a short report at the end of each day.

All black by default. Branded clothing or outfits are fine if you provide them; we ask for sizes beforehand. For outdoor winter campaigns, tell us the season: promoters need warm layers under the branding, or they are no longer approachable after two hours.

No travel fee inside Berlin as long as an S-Bahn, U-Bahn or tram stop is within a ten-minute walk at both the start and the end of the shift — bus stops do not count. Otherwise 25 € per person and shift; outside Berlin 25 € plus the travel time from the city limit as working time. On tours with several spots in a day, the way between spots counts as working time and is part of the plan.
